On 20th August 2025, a guest lecture on Financial Literacy was conducted for the students of Std. 9 and 10 by Dr. Nikhil Sapre, a renowned expert in finance and economics. He has worked extensively in the field of financial education and youth empowerment.
The lecture aimed to introduce students to the basics of financial literacy, including topics such as budgeting, banking, digital payments and the importance of technology in finance sector. Dr. Sapre used real-life examples and interactive discussions to make the concepts engaging and relatable for the young audience.
Students actively participated in the session, asking questions and sharing their understanding of Financial Technology. The session concluded with a short survey.
Overall, the lecture was highly informative and well-received. It provided valuable insights on Financial Technology.
SPM English School organised’ Product design competition’ on 19th August 25 for the students of std 10 . The competition aims to nurture Inquisitiveness and attitude of problem solving. The school has been organising this competition since last ten years.
Total 11 teams of std 10 participated in this event. Students presented ideas to solve the problems related to various fields right from Agriculture, e-bikes, to medical technology.
Mrs Gauri Joshi and Mr Manomay Bhosale judged this competition.Students were judged on the basis of research, usability of product, elaboration of idea, design of product and their presentation skills.
Ms Avanti Joshi bagged first prize for her product ‘Canscan’ a handglove to detect breast cancer.
Report on Art Integrated Symmetry Activity
On Monday, 18th August 2025, during the Mathematics period, an Art Integrated Symmetry Activity was conducted for the students of Standard 6. The aim of the activity was to help students understand the concept of symmetry in a creative and engaging way.
Students created different symmetrical designs and patterns using paper folding, drawings, and shapes. Through this activity, they were able to visualize line of symmetry in various figures and relate it to their daily life objects. The integration of art made the learning process enjoyable and interactive.
The activity helped students to develop not only their mathematical understanding but also their creativity and observational skills. Overall, the session was very successful and the students participated enthusiastically.
SPM English School Felicitates SSC Board Toppers 2024–25
On 15th August, SPM English School proudly hosted the SSC Felicitation Programme to honour and celebrate the outstanding achievers of the SSC Board Examination 2024–25.
As in every academic year, the students once again showcased exceptional performance in the board examinations. To acknowledge and appreciate their hard work, the school organised this special felicitation ceremony for the overall toppers as well as the subject toppers.
The event was graced by Honourable Shri Sudhir Kalkar Sir, Chairman of the School Committee, and Honourable Headmistress Rama Ma’am, who felicitated the meritorious students with certificates, trophies, and donor-sponsored prizes. Teachers from all three sections who had, at some point, taught this remarkable batch were also honoured for their dedication and contribution.
On this occasion, Mrs. Purohit, mother of Ishan Purohit, and Mr. Khare, father of Tejas Khare, expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the school. They highlighted the institution’s pivotal role not only in shaping the students’ academic excellence but also in nurturing cultural values and overall personality development.
In his inspiring address, Shri Sudhir Kalkar Sir emphasised the importance of consistent hard work, dedication, and valuing one’s family—especially mothers, whose role in a child’s upbringing and success is invaluable.
The programme concluded with a sense of pride and inspiration, motivating the students to aim higher and continue the legacy of excellence at SPM English School.
On 15th August 2025, S.P.M. English School celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm. The programme began with the flag hoisting by Hon. Shri Sudhir Kalkar Sir, Chairman of School Committee, and Hon.Mrs. Rama Kulkarni, Headmistress, and the Coordinators of all three sections.This was followed by the National Anthem, Bharat Mata Poojan,and the Pledge.
The cultural performances were a true reflection of patriotism. Students presented the soulful Marathi patriotic song ‘Hey Raashtra Devataanche’ and a vibrant Hindi Group song, both of which filled the atmosphere with pride and love for the nation. .
A special highlight was the Secondary section’s stirring mime act, dedicated to Bharatiya Paralympic athletes. Through expressive gestures and powerful acting, students conveyed the determination, courage, and achievements of these inspiring sportspersons.
In his speech, Hon.Shri Sudhir Kalkar Sir spoke about equality and the importance of calling our nation Bharat with pride and working for its progress.
The celebration concluded with the entire school singing all stanzas of Vande Mataram, a moment that deepened the spirit of patriotism in every heart.
Guru Purnima Celebration at SPM English School
Guru Purnima is a revered festival that honors the profound contributions of spiritual and academic mentors. It is a day dedicated to acknowledging the transformative power of guidance, wisdom, and knowledge imparted by teachers and gurus.
In keeping with this noble tradition, SPM English School celebrated Guru Purnima with deep reverence and enthusiasm. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp accompanied by the chanting of shlokas, which set a serene and spiritual tone for the morning. Students eloquently expressed their gratitude through heartfelt speeches, highlighting the pivotal role of teachers in shaping young minds and lives.
A soulful musical performance by the high school students further enriched the atmosphere, infusing the celebration with devotion and warmth. The entire event served as a touching tribute to the mentors whose selfless dedication continues to illuminate the path of learning for generations.
SPM English School Cultivates Leadership Through Student Council Elections
SPM English School held its annual Students’ Council elections on June 27, 2025, an initiative designed to empower students and cultivate their leadership skills through active involvement in school activities and service projects.
The election process kicked off with a preliminary round where aspiring candidates delivered a concise one-minute speech, outlining their vision and qualifications. Students then cast their votes online in the school’s computer lab, embracing a modern approach to democracy.
Twenty-five students vied for various posts, including House Captains and Vice Captains (Junior & Senior). The selection emphasized merit, with candidates evaluated against stringent criteria: excellence in academics and sports, alongside exemplary overall conduct in the academic block, dorms, and throughout the campus.
In a special assembly, our respected Principal, Mrs. Rama Kulkarni, proudly announced the results and felicitated the eight successful candidates. Each elected student was then honoured with their designation badge, presented by Principal madam. Below is the list of elected students:
