S.P.M. English School organised a Product Design Competition for Std. X, on 19th August, 2026, providing students with a platform to identify day-to-day problems and develop innovative, practical and eco-friendly solutions. The competition was judged by Dr. Manasi Malgaonkar, Research Coordinator, Shikshan Prasarak Mandali.
A total of 13 teams participated, showcasing their creativity, scientific thinking and problem-solving skills through useful and cost-effective products.
🏆 First Prize: Avani Pundlik, Arreendam Natu and Siddhant Karandikar for a toothbrush with replaceable, eco-friendly bamboo bristles.
🥈 Second Prize: Dhawal Londhe, Shreeram Shekatkar and Sagnik Kulkarni for a gadget using sodium bicarbonate to help neutralise acidic pollutants associated with harmful vehicle emissions such as carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide.
🥉 Third Prize: Parth Godbole, Suhrud Prabhudesai and Ryan Lele for smart shoes designed to detect nearby snakes through vibrations, measure steps and illuminate the path ahead.
The competition nurtured innovation, creativity, critical thinking and scientific temper, encouraging students to apply scientific concepts to real-life challenges. The Science teachers guided the students in developing their ideas into product designs.
The competition was arranged and coordinated by Science Teacher Mrs. Amruta Apte, under the guidance of Principal Mrs. Rama Kulkarni and Vice Principal Mrs. Rita Kapoor. The event was conducted smoothly and provided students with a valuable learning experience.
In a compelling showcase of artistry and historical perspective, a poster-making competition was held on August 6, 2025, for students of classes 9 and 10. The theme, “Swarajya according to me,” inspired a remarkable display of creativity.
The winners, recognized for their outstanding work, are as follows:

Third Place: Bhargav Dalimbkar (9C)
Consolation Prize: Rutuja Janvekar (10B)
The event successfully highlighted the students’ artistic talents and their thoughtful interpretations of Swarajya.
Poetry Recitation Competition – Std 5
A Poetry Recitation Competition for the students of Std 5 was held on 11th July ,2025 at SPM English School. The event was graced by our respected Headmistress, Mrs. Rama Kulkarni, who also served as the judge, and Mrs. Rita Kapoor, Coordinator of Secondary Section.
The programme began with a warm welcome and a heartfelt note on the power of poetry to nurture imagination, strengthen language skills, and impart timeless values.
The chosen poems—Try Again (5A), Be the Best of Whatever You Are (5B), and Kindness to Animals (5C)—reflected themes of perseverance, self-worth, and compassion.Students from Std 5A, 5B, and 5C recited poems with grace and confidence.
Class 5C emerged as the winner for their heartfelt and impactful rendition and was awarded a certificate of appreciation.
Beyond competition, the event was a celebration of voice and expression. It instilled values like empathy, kindness, determination, and self-belief—making it a truly meaningful and memorable experience for all.
