An Interschool Product Design Competition was organized by SPM English School on 13th September, 2025, in the Lady Ramabai Bai Hall of SP College.The competition aimed to provide students a platform to design innovative products and present solutions to real-life problems faced in today’s world.
The event was graced by distinguished guests and judges – Mr. Prashant Duraphe (Chief Scientific Officer, SP Mandali) and Mr. Sushant Joshi (Product Manager, Siemens).Hon.Shri.Sudhir Kalkar sir, Chairman of School Committee, SP Mandali,also graced the occasion with his presence.
Several schools participated with immense enthusiasm. Each team,showcased innovative product designs with clarity and confidence, reflecting their originality, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
The highlight of the competition was the outstanding performance of SPM English School, whose innovative product ‘Griptrix’ impressed the judges and secured the First Prize. The talented team members – Adit Joshi,Reva Kulkarni, and Anish Gharpure – were given certificates and Gold Medals for their remarkable work.
Kalamadi Shamrao High School secured the Second Prize, while Maharashtra Mandal School won the Third Prize. Both teams showcased excellent creativity and effort, making their achievements truly commendable.
Adding to the pride, the Rolling Trophy was also presented to SPM English School, marking a remarkable achievement for the institution.
The success of the event was made possible under the constant guidance of Mrs. Rama Kulkarni, Principal of SPM English School. Her encouragement and support motivated the team at every step.
Special credit goes to Mrs. Manasi Bhate, the event coordinator, and Mrs. Amruta Apte, who, along with the entire Science Department, worked with dedication and teamwork to ensure the smooth organization of the competition.
The event was truly a celebration of youthful innovation and talent. It served as an inspiring platform for budding designers, leaving everyone motivated and enriched.
Another glorious feather in the cap. Spm English Secondary School again excelled and didn’t fall short in displaying their stupendous performance, securing 2nd place in the prestigious Inter-School Debate Competition hosted by Maharashtra Mandal English School. With dignity, we gave the toughest competition and sealed our 2nd place out of 19 prestigious schools across Pune.
The event was well organized and countered by esteemed judges from different sectors of the society like Mr Prashant Kelkar Sir, Mrs Shobha Kshirsagar Ma’am, Mr Hemant Joshi Sir, Mrs Saroj Iyer Ma’am, Ms Preeti Boob Ma’am, to name a few.
The competition was judged on various criterias increasing the rigour of the case studies in each level which stayed for three consecutive days.
The prestigious Runner-up trophy and certificates were awarded at the hands of School Secretary, Hon. Mr Prashant Damle Sir. A special token of appreciation from Mrs Shobha Kshirsagar Ma’am, her personalised edition to our teacher, Ms Nauzia for her incredible mentorship in grooming the students for the debate. Also our student, Reva Kulkarni was presented a token of appreciation for being an outstanding orator by Ms Preeti Boob Ma’am.
The event concluded on a positive note inculcating team spirit, respect for opponents and immense amount of knowledge and information.
SPM English School Shines at Bharat Vikas Parishad Group Singing Competition
On Saturday, August 2, 2025, the Bharat Vikas Parishad – Kothrud Branch hosted its annual Branch-Level Group Singing Competition at SNDT Women’s University, Pune. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 15 reputed schools, with a total of 30 melodious group performances.
Students of SPM English School – Secondary Section delivered remarkable performances, earning top accolades in both Sanskrit and Hindi categories. The school proudly clinched the First Prize in Sanskrit Group Singing and Second Prize in Hindi Group Singing, showcasing their musical talent and cultural finesse.
The participants were expertly guided under the leadership of Principal Hon. Mrs. Rama Kulkarni, along with dedicated support from the Marathi, Sanskrit, Hindi, and Fine Arts departments.

Outstanding Performance in Maharashtra Talent Search Examination (MTS)
The Maharashtra Talent Search Examination (MTS), a prestigious academic assessment conducted by the Centre for Talent Search and Excellence, aims to identify and encourage academic talent among school students across the state. The examination serves as a platform to nurture intellectual curiosity and prepare students for future competitive exams.
The MTS exam was conducted on 26th April 2025.
From Standard VIII, three students appeared for the exam. We are proud to announce that Tanay Sheth has been awarded a Consolation Prize for his commendable performance.
From Standard IX, eight students participated. Among them,
Sharva Deshpande secured a Special Prize, while
Avanti Joshi and Aabha Joshi were awarded Consolation Prizes.
